Denny joined the Accra Hearts of Oak SC youth academy at the age of 14. Two years later, he started his professional career in late 2009/10, only at the age of 16 when he made his debut with Accra Hearts of Oak SC in Accra at the 2009 Ghana Premier League season. After playing about 2 and a half years for Hearts of Oak, Denny left Ghana in 2011 hoping to find a better career. Denny later went on to have a trial with the 2011 Malaysia Super League champions, Kelantan FA.
Denny, alongside 3 other trialist appeared in a friendly with the Kelantan Reserve Team against Songkhla FC of Thailand which Denny played the whole game. However, Songkhla FC later won the match 1-3.[2]
Having training with the Kelantan team for 2 months, new coach Peter James Butler eventually gives Denny a 2 year contract alongside Lebanese international, Mohammed Ghaddar and fellow countrymen, Emmanuel Okine who attended the trial with Denny.[3] Denny scored his first goal for Kelantan in a 2-1 win against the Maldives national football team, having scoring both goals during the pre season friendly match.[4] Denny later went on to score his first ever hat trick in a pre season friendly match against ATM FA which Kelantan won 4-2.[5]
Denny previously played for Accra Hearts of Oak SC in the Ghana Premier League.[6]
Denny once attended a national training camp with the Ghana national under-23 football team for the 2011 CAF U-23 Championship qualification. However, he was never chosen for the final squad.
